EVER COSPLAY SAGA: COSTUME CONTEST

Get ready to bring your favorite heroes and villains to life in the Ever Cosplay Contest: Best Hero & Best Villain! Open to both adults and kids, this exciting event gives you the chance to showcase your creativity and character portrayal through stunning costumes and performances.

Submit your cosplay photos or videos online using the hashtag #EverCosplaySaga #EverCosplayCostumeContest for a chance to be one of the Top 5 Grand Finalists per category. Finalists will perform live at the Cosplay Saga: The Assembly, competing for amazing prizes and the prestigious titles of Best Hero and Best Villain!

General Guidelines:

  1. Theme: Participants must portray a character from any media (movies, TV, comics, anime, games, etc.) that fits either the “Hero” or “Villain” category.
  2. Divisions:
    • Teenage-Adult Division: Ages 13 and above.
    • Kids Division: Ages 12 and below.
  3. Costume Authenticity: Costumes may be self-made, commissioned, or pre-made. Store-bought costumes are allowed, but creativity and personal modifications are highly encouraged.
  4. Performance Requirement: Contestants will have 1-2 minutes to perform a skit, pose, or character introduction on stage, reflecting their character’s personality and traits.
  5. Contest duration: October 1-28, 2024
  6. Deadline of Submission of Entries: October 22, 2024
  7. Announcement of Top 10 Grand Finalists: October 23, 2024
  8. Cosplay Saga: The Assembly Event:  October 27, 2024 (Sunday), 2PM at Ever Commonwealth

Social Media Submissions:

  1. How to Enter: Participants must submit at least a 1-min video of themselves in cosplay showcasing their character via Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.
    • Use the hashtag #EverCosplaySaga #EverCosplayCostumeContest #EverCommonwealth
    • Add in the caption template:
      “I’m (name of the participant), (age) from (location), portraying (character name) for the (Best Hero or Best Villain) category.”
      Sample: “I’m Juan Dela Cruz, 10 y.o. from Brgy Batasan Hills, QC, portraying Wolverine for the Best Hero Cosplayer category.”
    • Tag the official social media accounts of Ever Mall @evermallsofficial
  2. Categories for Submission:
    • Best Hero
    • Best Villain
  3. Engagement and Creativity:
    • Entries with the highest likes and shares and the most creative look will have a higher chance of winning.
    • Social media engagement will be considered during the judging process.

Selection of the Top 5 Grand Finalists from the Online entries:

  1. The top 5 participants in each category (Best Hero & Best Villain) from both the Teenage-Adult Division and Kids Division, based on social media engagement and costume creativity, will qualify as finalists.
  2. The Top 5 Grand Finalists will be invited to the Cosplay Saga Fest at Ever Commonwealth Mall, where they will perform their character live on stage.

Top 5 Grand Finalists of Best Hero & Best Villain (Criteria for Judging)

  1. Costume Accuracy & Craftsmanship (40%): How closely the costume resembles the original character design and the unique touches or interpretations that make the costume stand out.
  2. Photo/Video Presentation & Character Portrayal (30%): How well the participant embodies the character through poses, expressions, or a short skit in the video
  3. Social Media Engagement (30%): The total number of interactions (likes, shares, and comments) on the participant’s entry across social media platforms.

Grand Winners of Best Hero & Best Villain (Criteria for Judging)

  1. Costume Accuracy & Creativity: (30%)
    • How well the costume matches the original character design.
    • Creative interpretation and personal touches that make the costume stand out.
  2. Stage Performance: (40%)
    • How well the participant portrays the character’s personality on stage.
  3. Audience Impact & Social Media Engagement: (30%)
    • Crowd interaction during the live performance and the number of likes, shares, and comments from social media submissions.

Prizes:

Social Media Voting Process:

  1. Voting Period: The voting period will begin upon the official announcement of the contest and will close one day before the live event.
  2. Likes and Shares: The more likes and shares a submission receives, the higher its chances of winning under the social media engagement criteria.
  3. Announcement: Social media finalists will be announced on the day of the event, and they will automatically qualify for the live stage competition.

Additional Guidelines:

  1. Props: Non-lethal, lightweight props are allowed but must be checked at the registration desk. No sharp or dangerous items permitted.
  2. Conduct: All participants are expected to act responsibly and respectfully. Any inappropriate behavior may lead to disqualification.
  3. Judging: The decision of the judges is final.
